Toshiba Satellite 5205-S505 is a very nice laptop with power and all the basics.

Pros: Beautiful picture, sound, function. A sleek, professional machine; I'm very pleased.
Cons: External floppy extra; I chose to add Word Perfect; sometimes have to adjust brightness.
The Bottom Line: I do recommend this laptop. It is the best rated, best functioning one I have found. It's a lot for the money. It's a great laptop.

I shopped for the best laptop for about $1500 that I could find. I first went with a Dell Inspiron 8500 but had a number of operating system problems with it; one of the times technical support had me wipe out the hard drive and reload the operating system! I ended up returning it within the 30 day trial period. I purchased the Toshiba Satellite 5205-S505 from Us1Camera.com for $1549. and opted to purchase a 3 year repair and technical support package for an additional price. I am very, very pleased with this laptop.
Compared to the Dell, it has better sound, a well built keyboard and overall a sturdier, more professional feel. The Dell that I returned cost a few hundred dollars more than this one.
This is a superior laptop. So far I have had no problems with the operating system. No error messages...how nice! I have only had one question to technical support...how to increase the brightness on the screen and voila...as crystal clear as the Dell had been. I have not read a bad review of this laptop.
Cons...lets see. It did not come with a Word Perfect software program, only a basic Rich text document, word pad, etc. It did have Quattro pro 10. I wanted a floppy drive so purchased an external one for an additional cost ($99). I'll add to the review if I come across any negatives.
