Pros: Price, price and price! Lightweight, easy to use.
Cons: Rainbow or screen door effects might be a problem for some.

DLP has no screen door effect (Reply to this comment)

Just a note: DLP does not suffer from the screen door effect. This is only a problem with LCD. The reason for this is due to physical differences between the two technologies.

I also have an X1 and LOVE it!

I'm strongly considering buying this projector, and your review definitely lends me a lot of confidence in regards to the decision! Awesome review! So awesome, I'm typing in a comment, and I almost never bother doing that.

[This Comment was accidentally placed in another review of this product, but I suppose it sorta applies there too, heh)

I am hoping to purchase one of these next month (Oct '03), first selling off my bulky Sony 1042Q CRT projector. So naturally I have been very nervous about going from CRT to DLP. Thanks to your technically insightful review, I am not so nervous anymore! Maybe once I get this I will also post a review here as well.
Thanks again, keep up the excellent reviews!

Re: 62 mm circular polarizing filter (Reply to this comment)

Dagoke, I just bought what they had at the local Wolf camera. I can't remember the brand. Another suggestion made was to buy a "neutral density" filter which won't darken the output as much as a polarizing filter. You can go buy both and return the one you don't like, to a good camera store. Just make sure your camera store has a good return policy. Good luck! :)

Hi,

Could you please provide me more details about the brand/type of filter you are using? I'm intending to buy one too. Thanks in advance.
