I prefer shopping online and this is especially true for things like office and school supplies. I have found a few good, reliable online companies that I continually order from and Staples is one of them.
FINDING WHAT YOU NEED
There are three main ways to find what you need ~
1. Using the bar along the top that has 6 selection choices, all with take you then to that departments home page.
•Home
•Office Supplies
•Furniture
•Technology
•Custom Printing
•Business Services
2. Using the Search option that works by keyword or catalog number.
3. The smaller bar on the top left side which has 4 choices.
•New At Staples
•Weekly Specials
•Business Machine Month
•Clearance Center
•Rebate Center
These all follow you around as you shop, making it easy to switch from area to area.
SHOPPING
One of the best parts about shopping at Staples is that you can choose to view the products with or without images. This is a real help in both loading time and the number of products shown per page.
When you When you find something you like, you can click on it to get a more detailed description and then a picture.
To purchase something, you need to click the ADD TO CART button and put in the number you want to purchase. If the items is discount when a higher quantity is purchased, that information will show up as well. You can then continue shopping or head to the checkout.
Once you are ready to checkout you need to register, giving all the regular billing and mailing information along with choosing a password. After registering, you will be able to have this information on file and save time checking out in the future.
After submitting your order you will get a confirmation number. This is followed up with a detailed confirmation email that will also give delivery time.
OH YOU HAVE A DOG
This is my FUNNY (as in both haha and odd)Staples story. On my second order I purchased some computer paper and some pens. they were to be delivered on Tuesday. Nothing came and so I give them a call only to be told it had been delivered. Ok, I figure I must have missed it, that maybe he he stuck it on the back deck. Well, it wasn't on the back deck nor anywhere else I could see so I call again.
She tells me she'll get specific information from the driver and call me back. About an hour later I get this call telling me to check on my driveway. I explain the driveway is 1200 feet long but I tell her we will go see if we can find it.
Sure enough about 1/2 way down there is a box TOSSED to the side! I bring it in and call her back to tell them we have it and ask why it was just thrown off to the side and not brought down to the house? She then tells me THE DRIVER WAS AFRAID OF MY DOG so as soon as he saw her he dropped the package and backed out! LOL The first thing I ask her is if maybe this kid should look into another line of work after all I assume I am not the ONLY place he delivers to with a dog! The really odd part was that they are not to leave the package unless it is written on the form.
SHIPPING
Staples offers FREE shipping on orders that are $50 and more. Orders under $50.00 are charged a $7.95 shipping and handling fee.
Normally there is a $75.00 fee on orders for customizable computers but there is a promotional offer going on until 09/09/2003 where they are waving that fee.
Delivery for Office Supply and Technology products is 1-4 business days and Furniture products is 1-7 days. These are times for IN STOCK merchandise with added times needed if the item needs to come directly from the vender.
I have gotten all of my orders within 2 days.
They DO charge sales tax on ALL states that have one.

Other than the dog incidence, I haven't had any problems with any of my Staples orders.
The Staples site is easy to navigate, has a large inventory, allows coupons, has fast delivery and I would recommend them.
Be sure to check all your coupon sites BEFORE ordering as there as always coupons floating around! And don't forget to go through your favorite reward programs as many of them give points for shopping at Staples.
As always, be sure to check around (and then check again) to make sure you are getting the best possible deal!
