I'd had difficulty with Best Buy's "bricks and mortar" store in the past, so I decided to give them one more try on the web when they had a good price advertised on the printer I wanted. I went to the site and it was listed as being in stock and available for delivery. I placed the order and paid for expedited shipping. When the printer did not arrive within the specified time, I called the customer service number listed on the site. After a long wait, a fairly rude representative informed me that the product was out of stock and I could backorder it. He did check the inventory of the store nearest to my home and told me that the product was in stock there. He cancelled my web order and I went to the store. The product was set up with a display model but no inventory near it. I waited for a salesperson to help me and after about 15 minutes, I literally had to stand in front of someone rushing past me in the aisle to get help. That person told me the printer was out of stock--without even looking to see which one I was talking about--and pushed past me.
I never wanted to see anything having to do with them again--but had no choice when my credit card was charged for the original web order. I called a second time and was told that there was no record of my having cancelled the order. This time, they did manage to cancel it.
I did send a complaint e-mail to the company and received a $10 gift card for my trouble. But I haven't used it yet, because I just can't bring myself to shop with them again.
