| terrapin_yfz's Full Review: Samsung Yepp YP-30S MP3 Player |
I was looking for an MP3 player and looked at all the brands (Rio, Sony, Phillips, . . .). I decided to take a chance on the YP-30SH. I am thrilled with what I got.
Very easy to use, the volume can be very loud, and the unit is quite rugged. In fact, I had it strapped to my shirt one day while I was running and sweat happened to drip inside the unit by the rotary knob (yes, I know that is gross). The unit kind of freaked out and didn't work for the rest of the run, but after letting it dry out over night . . . it is perfect.
Headphone cord is too short. The software for loading songs onto the unit is a bit cumbersome, but you can figure it out after a while.
Battery life is actually quite good. My advice is to get rechargable NiMH batteries to use with it. I have two of these batteries and swap in a new one every two to three days.
The memory size is truly impressive and Samsung is a quality name. There are cheaper models on the market, but they don't nearly have the quality of this unit.
