The Bottom Line: Great camera for the price. Comfortable about about leaving it out and handy. Has gotten more use than the $1000 camera that we have in the closet.

Well that is what I thought when my husband first talked about this camera. But then I walked over and actually picked it up. The camera is light weight and simple to use. Without checking the instruction book you are able to record and them watch what you record with one finger.
The large screen(3.5 inches) is much easier to see than most cameras. We liked the fact that there was no eye piece to look through.The eye piece always made me feel kind of claustrophobic. We took it to a theme park and was great to be able to walk around with the camera on and not have to worry about running in to people. It's great to be able to hold the camera above our heads and still watch what we are recording because the lense swivels. It has light capability options for different occasions like outdoor and party. It has fade in and out and several title screens. We got ours at Costco for $200.00. It uses Hi8 tapes that we also got there (6 for $18.00).
