NetGear 108 HUB - It just doesn't get any easier
Written: Feb 25 '01
Pros:FAST! EASY! Headache free
Cons:Not a one
The Bottom Line: Not many of my rated products got 5 stars!!! NetGear DOES!
I have had networked systems back to the day of the BBS's when I had 3 networked together. I remeber it took 3 days of setting the card settings, and hoping they would talk. That was without a hub.
Recently, I tied 4 systems together using a Netgear Hub and Netgear cards. I tied a DSL modem into the hub, and all 4 systems were then hooked up. I was concerned because one of the systems was running Windows ME and the other 3 were running Win98. Not to worry...all installed in a flash, all I had to do was go into the settings and set the TCP/IP settings. Without a glitch, all recognized the others and I did all 4 card installations, configurations, and printer sharing in less than 2 hours.
Netgear didn't come with alot of documentation, but it does not need to! There was a step-by-step pictoral guide, but that was not even needed.
I would not have had to do anything if the cards were able to install themselves. Like I said....IT DOES NOT GET ANY EASIER
