This machine has a few notable flaws, but it is still the best cleaner I've owned to date. It has tremendous suction-picks up everything, even the things that are technically too large (but lazy folks like me try to suck up anyhow). The first time I used it, the bag filled up. (don't know if this is a point in favor of the Boss, or against the Fantom?)
It has an easy switch near the top of the unit for easy hose/floor switching.
The other feature I really like is the detachable hose- everything comes apart easily so clogs can be cleared without hauling the machine to the shop.
My complaints are few, but significant- the unit is very heavy, and there is no grab handle. The cord could be longer, and the pedal takes a good effort to push. Also, while I've seen nothing better for suction, this unit is useless on bare floors.
