I guess not all of us have the eloquence you possess, nor do we have the luck you had in your dealings with BUY.COM.
My own experience parallels many of the negative reviews. I dislike rants that are unfounded or based on ignorance. But I found zero rationale for their continued listing of items as "IN STOCK" when they were very much not available. To compound matters in one case, anyone unfortunate enough to place an order for a Canon A75 a week after I did would have had to pay a higher price for the equally non-existent item!!
Their absurd canned replies to e-mails were more than alittle frustrating. They use all the flowery language about how they are striving for the best shopping experience... But then they don't follow thru with their claims!
They used to be better, approaching amazon.com. But not now. How can you trust a company that does not list a phone number or address??
That is not a good way to do business nor is it going to win them any more of mine.
[I was very surprised by your positive review which seemed to ignore a huge percentage of unhappy reviewers...? That's not like you! It diminishes my respect for your other reviews.]

I keep reading rave reviews of buy.com. You are fortunate that you did not have to return the product or try to ask a question. Email customer service is pathetic to nonexistent...they give you canned answers. If you call them, it costs $9.95. Once you have had a problem with buy.com, you would never shop there again. You were fortunate to have no problems. I number myself among the many who will save money when they have a problem and do not have to go to the manufacturer to solve it as we did with an external hard drive purchased at buy.com. Please qualify your view of their customer service (or lack thereof).

I agree with you about Buy.com. They are definitely a professional and efficient online store, that you do not find in too many other online stores.
