The Bottom Line ..something sentimental. Like a keep-sake.
Well, today (March 15) is my birthday. For the past month I have been asked over and over again, what I want for my birthday. Unlike some people, who say, "you don't have to get me anything," I force or demand good and expensive gifts. (It's my birthday after all-- happens only once a year!) This year, I had wanted something sentimental, something that I can use for a long time; a "keep-sake" kind of thing. I think that the gifts that I am going to describe (mention) below are easy to find and most of them will please both genders. Crystal Have you ever walked into World of Science or some other store that has a "glass dove" in a show case? Doesn't it look adorable, and maybe sentimental? It doesn't necessarily have to be a glass dove, they also have hundreds of other stupid things like shoes. But the point is that these presents actually look good and are a good present for almost anyone. They are small yet show affection and love! (its the small things that always make the difference!) These can cost anywhere from $50-$1,000. (believe me, it would be worth the money!) Music Box The all times favorite-- a Music Box. The malls are full of these, so its very difficult to pick one. So here's a suggestion: think about what kind of person the recipient is. Does the person remind you of a Cartoon Character such as Tinker Bell? Cinderella? Peter Pan? Go to Disney Store and get a music box which has something related to that! Music Boxes can range from $25-$200, depending on where you get it from and what kind you get. Disney's are usually expensive, but others (which usually have an angel or something) in them, are pretty reasonable. Posters My walls are usually empty, and well I'd like some good posters. If your recipient is a Lennon fan, get him his poster. If your recipient is crazy about Mel Brooks get that poster. Posters provide you with endless choices because there is a poster for every kind of person. Even Aliens! Posters can cost anywhere from $4-$20, depending on the size and availability. Cartoon Characters Believe it or not, you are not the only one who watches Cartoons. Everyone likes to take a break once in a while and watch Scooby Doo on Cartoon Network. Go to the store and buy something Scooby Doo related-- it might be a beanie baby, a game for Nintendo, etc. Items like these can ease a person's mind! These items can cost you anywhere from $5 to $500, depending on what you chose to buy. "You are Worthless" This is a book, that I absloutely LOVE. It will surely ruin someone's day. This book has quotations that is designed to make someone depressed, but actually just make the person laugh. ("Your friends just want your money.") I think this is amongst the funniest presents you can get anyone, and its good for any occasion, even Christmas! Warning: Please don't give this book to any one who is sensitive. This book is also not appropriate for children, as it does have foul language. This book costs about $10, and is available at almost all book stores. Remember: Something sentimental or funny, does it. Homemade items which are worth $5 are valued more than items you get from the mall which cost $500. Ask your little one to draw the recipient (two legs, two hands, two eyes-- general stuff, avoid details) and tape it on the present. The recipient would love it ;-) |
