Pros: Large, lots of useful places to put stuff. Attractive oak. Worth over $200.
Cons: Due to its size more elaborate than most desks to set up.
The Bottom Line: If you have the space this trounces any desk under $150. More space, better appearance and more places to put stuff.

| rhall's Full Review: O'Sullivan Traditional Computer Workcenter |
We purchased the O'Sullivan Computer Desk at Walmart for $99 and I cannot say how pleased we are with the purchase. We wanted a desk that had enough space to write the bills, write letters and do the family finances. We weren't looking for a computer desk but the O'Sullivan desk fitted the bill perfectly.
The desk has a very handsome appearance - the light oak looks really good with our biege decor.
Be warned that the desk is extremely cumbersome both in terms of size but especially weight. Even in a Grand Cherokee with the seats down the drivers seat has to be almost all the way forward to accommodate it for the trip home. Once home two strong people need to manhandle it to the assembly location.
The actual assembly takes around 3 hours. The first hour and a half involves drilling screws and fasteners into random pieces of wood, then it all starts to come together.
A few mistakes to watch out for that I made if like me you are DIY impaired:
1) When tacking the back board in place align it just short of the top of the hutch, don't screw up like I did and put it so high that nailing it to the base of the desk resulted in nails going through the back of the desk surface.
2) the door hinges need the long screws to go into the door itself and short screws to go into the desk - don't make the mistake of using all long screws and drilling through the side of your desk
This said besides 2-3 hours of hard work assembly is not that challenging. The result is a large attractive looking desk.
Features:
-CD holders
- Desktop drawer
- CPU cupboard
- rollaway keyboard ledge
- 2 small and 1 larger bottom drawer
- two really handy places at the top of the hutch for putting instructions/bills...
- a cupboard at the top of the hutch
I notice that this desk's recommended price is $200. Having assembled two other $100-$150 computer desks I can attest that it is definitely a step up from the lower price desks - it's bigger, has more places to put things and uses more attractive wood. At $100 theses things should walk out of Walmart very quickly. I have to assume this desk is being sold under cost - the non-promotional Walmart price is $130.
If you are considering a desk, walk, no run, no take a large vehicle with lots of cargo space and a muscular friend to Walmart and get this O'Sullivan desk.
