This reviewer has rented a RIM 950 pager for use in delivery work. I have used one for four years as a bicycle messenger. The readout invariably suffers from water damage. Vertical or horizontal lines develop which can make the LCD display illegible. My company has recommended putting the pager in a baggie in wet weather, but condensation can still occur, enough to damage the readout. I have even had lines develop while the pager is on the window sill, where it needs to be to send/receive. The durability rating shown below is due to the LCD display.

Repair costs $125 and lasts until the next rain.

I have turned in my pager as too costly to maintain. I expect better quality in a rental
