Pros: Good price for what you get
Cons: If only it worked ... repair center major problem
The Bottom Line: I've had 4 Dell's before which have run non-stop without failure. People complain that Dells service is slipping but their product is reliable and service is much better than HP.

| newyorkbuyer's Full Review: Hewlett Packard Hp Pavilion A250n (DF253A#ABA) PC ... |
I picked one of these up because the price looked attractive in light of what the computer has installed. 2.6MHz Hyper Treaded processor, DVD RW, 120 gig drive. System completely died within 30 days. HP attributed this to a bad motherboard.
They sent a packing box and prepaid FedEx label. I packed up the computer and hand carried it to a FedEx owned shipping facility. FedEx shows delivery in 2 days. Checked HP site and they do not show receipt. I called customer service (India?) and they assured me that they had the computer and were working on it. After 3 more days and no evidence of receipt emailed HP CEO. Got a customer service call 2 days later saying that the computer was shipping out that day.
Got a letter in the mail the next day informing me that I returned the computer to the wrong repair facility (it was their FedEx label!). Finally received the computer ... but there was a rattle in the box. Front panel of computer was broken and there was a note attached claiming that I had not sent the CPU back! Opened the case to find the heat sink and brackets tossed inside ... rattling around damaging the rest of the components. Form showing my address and phone number is attached to the computer but they did not bother to call to inquire about missing CPU. How many of their customers send their computers back minus the CPU for repair? Didn't they think that odd? Who stole the CPU ... FedEx ... HP Repair????
Called to complain and demanded that they pick up the computer. They asked for documentation and after receipt sent another label to return unit promising refund. Sent computer and loose parts back again ... and after another week and a half finally received a check ... shortchanged by $45.00 with no explanation and over two months of headache. Maybe they deducted the $45.00 to cover the cost of their customer service operation... who knows.
Needless to say this is not a way to run a company!
