Pros: Functionally powerful. Used to be the best.
Cons: VERY Unstable Causes freeze-up and disables Standby in Win XP. Bad support.
The Bottom Line: Causes mysterious freeze-up, disables Standby, Symantec support wastes your time, cryptic GUI, app slurps memory and processor resources.

| dj_chihou's Full Review: Symantec WinFax Pro 10.02 For PC |
My experience with the latest version of Winfax has been horrible. Winfax caused my laptop to freeze. I discovered this after hours of trouble shooting, with no help from Symantec Support. Winfax causes hardware conflicts in both modem and COM ports so that Standby WILL NOT WORK. Again, hours spent trouble shooting - zero help from Symantec support - in fact they wasted my time by suggesting solutions that did not work.
I purchased the product in November 2002. As of April 2003, none of these solutions had been addressed!!!
Very bad experience.
This is sad, because I had been a power winfax user in 1997 and 1998 when I was consulting around the globe, I could fax digital project documents from any job site. It was the best thing going. Now it seems it's become low priority for Symantec, the interface is not at all well designed. Further it's now a power and memory hog and it's unstable.
It is very clear that to me that Winfax is a low priority for Symantec Support and development/maintenance, because they have not resolved a major issue for road warriors, who would be a prime constituency for Winfax - the hardware conflicts in the modem and COM ports which have the effect of disabling Standby - thereby eliminating a handy battery life extender.
Ouch - don't get bit like i did.
That's my experience.
