I ordered a Fox Creek Vented Racing Jacket when I got my first motorcycle, an old 86' VF500. I chose the Fox Creek jacket because of the company's reputation among my friends and because it gets hot in southern California and the jacket is equipped with a mesh shell that really keeps you cool when the vents are open.
My jacket was custom made. I have very long arms and a short torso. They ended up cutting me something that was a combination of 3 sizes, and it fit perfectly when I got it. In fact it is the only garment I own that fits me right, everything else is a trade-off.
While I haven't gone down while wearing it, I think it would protect me as well as or better than anything else I have seen people wearing. The leather is definitely some of the thickest I have encountered. The hardware also looks very nice and after using the jacket for a year I can't say I have any complaints about it.
I highly recommend this company, for the quality of their leathers and the time they are willing to take to get things right.
