Pros:Cost, availability, stories and columns
Cons:too many sales papers on sundays
The Bottom Line: The best newspaper with the most coverage our area of the state has to offer.
The Times Picayune is a New Orleans based newspaper. I have read this paper for the last twenty years and still consider it to be number 1. The newspapers layout is separated into sections, such as the metro, river parishes, and classifieds. This is a big help for us that don't live in New Orleans, but read the paper for what's gone on in our area that the local paper might not cover.
The columns are basically throughout the newspaper with Sunday's Edition having more. The articles are also not just geared toward the necessarily "Hot topics" of who shot who over night or one politician slandering another.
I have read many articles in this newspaper concerning our areas environment and wetland conservation, something that is very interesting to me.
The only downfall is Sunday's Edition has so many sales papers, but it's not enough of a downfall to make me quit buying the paper.
Overall the paper has great articles, very informative, and has wonderful columns. It's a bargain for the price.
