They're great at sales, indescribably horrible at helping you when your computer fails.

The words "customer service" in relation to Dell are an oxymoron. With a $300-plus same day on-site service contract, you get to call India, speak to someone going down a list, take apart your computer yourself, loose weeks, once over a month of productivity. One of the techs in India hung up on me when I said I didn't know how to open the back of my Inspiron 8100 and take out the memory chips and that I didn't have the type of screwdriver necessary to do so and that they needed to send someone out -- with a $300 same-day on-site contract!!!!! I could write pages about Dell's falsely advertised "service."
