Abandon idealism, look tough, be alert, and bargain. If you do those things, not only will you be safe, you'll have a great time. Maybe.

Hello? Hello? Are you still there? (Reply to this comment)

Welcome back, hope you're not gone again.

Great travel tips in a humorous format. Much of the same, it seems, can be said about Turkey: Visiting Turkey and only spending time in Istanbul is like going to Morocco and seeing only Marrakesh.

Hope to see you again soon!!

I've never been to Morocco ... (Reply to this comment)

... but you hit directly on all the fears preconceptions I'd have. So now that Morocco seems calm and predictable to you, what's next? Algeria?

Great work ...

travel vs. tourism (Reply to this comment)
by ashley
I believe a true travel experience involves not being overly-planned/prepared. I've heard my share of complaints about guide books being inadequate or, in a lot of cases flat out inaccurate and it bothers me that people are upset by this. Take a guided tour next time if you want predictability. Better yet, read about the country and call it a night.

Thank you for your insights on Morocco. I do believe in making an effort to understand the country I am planning to visit. Entering a country like Morocco and hoping for the best is not travel, it's stupid. Keep the reviews coming.

How naughty of you to have left us all in the lurch for so long. Did you not think we would notice your absence?

Nice to see you're back...with a vengeance! :-)

Great review!

Have I ever told you how much I like saying that, kif-fway-bay. It sounds so nice in the head and out in the room.

I liked #2. It works since it is #2.

And I'll always think of you whenever I see Big Bird now.

Peace,

Jeff, I haven't traveled since your last travel review. It's been boring! Hope you write more soon for those of us who travel more through your wonderful, exciting, descriptive reviews than the normal way. Interesting information you've provided. Thanks!

Thanks! I had written this one a while back and thought I would go ahead and post it. I may or may not start writing regularly here again. I do have a few things that I'm thinking of posting though. Thanks for stopping by.

The closest I have ever been to Morocco
was to date a physician who was born there.
You had a lot of fascinating information to
offer. I am anxious to check out your
