The Bottom Line Consider your options before you buy a truck. You may be better off with a car.
Thinking about buying a truck? Maybe you should read this first. Trucks aren’t for everyone. Some people just fit better in cars. I am 5 foot 2 inches tall and I drive a Dodge Dakota extended cab. It is just my boyfriend and I that drive this truck. We don’t really need all the room it has to offer, but I am a truck person. As I was saying, trucks aren’t for everyone. Before you jump into buying one, sit back and think of the reasons you may need it. Are you going to haul things in the bed? Do you usually have more then two people with you? Do you need 4 wheel drive? Questions like that will help with your decision. If you are going to haul big things, a full size truck may be for you. They have alot of power and can haul nice sized campers behind them. If you usually have more then two people with you, a full size truck is a better deal then a smaller truck because you aren’t as cramped. 4 wheel drive can come in handy in snowy areas. But if you live out in the desert in flat land, save your money and don’t get 4 wheel drive. There are a few things you need to know about the cost of owning a truck. Little trucks aren’t that bad on guzzling gas, but full size trucks can be. I get about 20 miles to the gallon in my little truck. My dad owns a full size truck and he gets about 17 miles to the gallon. You may want to consider this before you jump into a truck and drive it home. I can’t say that my truck has high matinee. It is about the same as any other car. Check the fluids, change them regularly, checking tires, and normal things like that. The cost of owning a truck isn’t that much more then the cost of owning a car. And trucks just seem to have more advantages then cars. Trucks aren’t for everyone though. Some people just hate them cause they are so big. You do have the option of getting a smaller truck too. I guess I just don’t like being crammed into a tiny car. I love my truck. I fell safer when I am driving down the expressway. I know that I am not going to get crunched into a pancake as easily as that little tiny car next to me.
