| wbentt's Full Review: Epson Stylus C82 Inkjet Printer |
I have had four Epson printers prior to this one and all have produced excellent photo quality. I'm using it with a Mac on OS X Version 10.2.6. I'm very disappointed with the printing quality on photos. Pictures lack color saturation and brightness. I have tried adjusting settings to no avail. The picture resolution looks adequate, but lacks the contrast of any of my previous printers. Photos just lack the punch I was looking for. My last Epson was a 740. I gave this to my granddaughter and it is still putting out great color. I wanted the C82 because of the increased resolution, the Durabrite® inks and the less expensive individual ink cartridges. Well this is what I got. No apparent increase in print resolution, poorly saturated darker colors and a paper feed that sounds like a shotgun going off. I must admit the that inks are smudge free, reducing the need for lamination of prints. I guess I'll just have to wait 80 years to check out the durability of the colors. Of course that will be 80 years where I'm unhappy with the original quality!
