I initially wrote a positive review with top ratings based on the ease of navigating the site, easy ordering, on time deliver. However, if you make purchases from this website you are assuming a risk. Please read my update at the bottom.
I hate it when I find I am running out of printer ink, particularly if I let it go, and don't plan ahead. That necessitates my getting dressed (nudist at heart), getting in the car, and hassling with the chain computer stores, crowds of cranky people, sales people nowhere in sight, or wanting to help people who are there to spend considerably more than I am (generating beaucoup commission for them), desperately trying to find the ribbon I need. Nope, just not my cup of tea. My printer advised me I was running low, and that I might want to get a replacement cartridge ahead of time. That is all I needed to hear.
It is a very simple website to navigate; patriotic red, white and blue, with a smidgen of green, set up for easy navigation, ordering, and all of your questions answered without having to search endlessly.
What you will find there:
They carry toner cartridges, ribbons, paper and cables, and clickable tabs for each are listed on the top.
Brands carried:
* Apollo
* Apple
* Brother
* Canon
* Compac
* Epson
* Hewlett Packard
* Lexmark
* Okidata
* Panasonic
* Samsung
* Xerox
Pricing:
The price on a black cartridge for my printer is $20.95. If I opted to buy 2 or more, it would be $19.95. They are remanufactured, and I have no problem with that. I'd be paying $10.00 more at my local chain computer store.
Color cartridges for my printer run $24.95 at 123inkjet. They are $35.00 otherwise. For 2 or more, again take off an additional dollar.
How to order:
Well, you simply click on the brand of your printer for instance. The website shows a small picture of the brand name along with the name. You will then be taken to a huge listing of printer series. Simply select yours. If you already know your cartridge number you can insert that instead. Add your selection to your shopping cart. Oh, by the way, if you order is $150 or over, they will verify to protect you and themselves.
90 risk free guarantee if you are not pleased with your cartridge. They also accept returns if you follow their policies, so check out their website if you would like to learn more.
Recycling:
You can make some money on your empties if you like.
Shipping:
I love that they are presently offering free shipping in the United States during their back to school sale, so move fast! Canada is $6.00, and they do deliver to APO/FPO, Alaska, Hawaii (you need to contact customer service for that however). Normally, their shipping is free for purchases over $25.00, so in most cases you will get free shipping, without having to meet an almost impossible minimum. They use USPS, or you can upgrade to UPS ground if you wish.
Unfortunately they do not ship internationally at this time.
Safe and secure:
Yes, those are their words, but it is true. You can order from this site, and feel confident. They use SSL (Secure Sockets Layer), and that is among the best software available to provide users security/confidence in ordering from them.
My experience:
As I know both my printer and cartridge number, I easily found what I needed on their website. They don't have a search engine, as they don't require one. I clicked on the Hewlett Packard icon, found my printer listed (if yours isn't listed they have a spot to enter the number), and I was taken to the cartridge number I required. I entered "1", placed it in the cart, then entered the usual information, name, address, phone number, credit card information (remember it is secure). A receipt was then available instantly on the website and I printed it out. I was also sent a confirmation to my email address. My package was received on a very timely basis, sooner than I expected in fact. My cartridge was packaged in a thick mailing envelope, and "fragile" was noted on the outside of it. I was impressed! I never required customer service, but this website is so efficient, I would expect that to follow suit. Save yourself time and money by purchasing your cartridges, paper, toner, cables or ribbons thru 123. As I have never used remanufactured cartridges before and wonder if they will last as long as new ones, I shall update this review when I can assess that. For now I am very happy!
Update:
As it turns out the cartridge sent me was not compatible, so when they promise the cartridges are premium and will be compatible- well, in my case, not true. It was a waste of money. I returned it, and they refused it, and sent it back to me. Needless to say, I am livid, and am revamping this review, so others will be warned. For the future I'll stick with the real thing at regular prices. I have no choice but to change my rating to 1 star. You may wish to take a chance to save money, but I can't recommend them.
Thanks for reading!
