I purchased this radio for a bedroom. Its sound is terrific, it looks nice and the build quality is very high. It has significant heft, the soft-touch buttons work smoothly, and the little credit-card remote neatly duplicates the buttons from the front of the unit.
The sound, though, is what one buys a stereo for, and this unit sounds very good. The bass is clear and crisp, and can be adjusted. There is a handy coax antenna connector (which I use) and the reception is very good. There are also inputs for a portable CD player.
My only criticism is that they sell a unit with a built-in CD player, but it costs $200 more. That is too high a premium.
The unit I purchased is a refurbished one from Hifi.com via and Ebay auction (meaning that someone returned it within the Hifi.com 45-day trial period). It has the same 1-year warranty as a factory-fresh one, and, to me, it looked like it had not been touched by human hands. The refurb units are sold through Ebay (when in Ebay, just do a search for Hifi.com and you will see a listing of everything that they are selling).
