Pros: Nice phone, competitive plan pricing
Cons: Sound quality, echo, drop outs
The Bottom Line: You'll have to try it to see if you have the same problems. I'll keep my Verizon for awhile.

| otownguy's Full Review: AT&T Mobile Phone Service in San Francisco/San Jos... |
Just picked up a Nokia 6200 phone along with new sign plan sign up. Trying out AT&T after 2 years w/ Verizon. Primary usage area is Oakland, East Bay, Pleasanton. I was hoping to get wider strong signal coverage in my areas of primary use (e.g., near my kid's school in the hills, etc.)
The Nokia 6200 is a nice phone, nice menus (small buttons for my fingers though).
I am finding that the signal seems to drop out when the two parties in the call are talking at once. Also, even when the signal strength seems to be strong (according to the display), the party with the poorer reception will miss a lot of my transmission due to drop outs and static. At the same time, I'll be able to hear them clearly. This was even apparent when calling my wife's phone when we were both close to known antenna sites.
Really bad echo when I call my work voicemail.
This problem was not noticeable w/ previous my Verizon digital service. I'll have to do further testing to see if this is an isolated problem. Any opinions or similar experiences out there? I have about 25 days now to consider dropping the service.
I usually get decent reviews from other AT&T users though.
