Yes, you are right. Let's hope the Academy is a work in progress.
REQUIEM FOR A DREAM is the only picture touched by the Academy that has true greatness. Hard to take, but we agree on its quality.

I enjoyed reading your predictions, they reflected a more ideal Academy, one that does not exist.
I applaud your praising of Requiem For A Dream, I saw it for the first time the other day and was blown away.

Most of the time, director and picture walk down the aisle hand-in-hand, so you're going out on a limb with this one, but we shall see.
