MTSU A GOOD CHOICE FOR LOCALS
Written: Mar 01 '01
Pros:affordable, nice city, close to Nashville, quality education
Cons:parking, construction on campus
The Bottom Line: Middle Tennessee State University is not the Harvard of the south, but it is not a community college either. MTSU is making the move into the 21st Century.
Middle Tennessee State University is not the Harvard of the south, but it is not a local community college either. The school is trying to make the move into the 21st Century--and all of the construction on campus shows the effort. There is a new Business Building, Nursing Program, Aerospace Building, Football field, and Baseball locker room to name a few of these changes. Parking can be a real problem on campus.
Located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee , MTSU, is only a twenty minute drive to Nashville. Middle Tennessee State University now has the second largest student enrollment in the state behind the University of Tennessee. There is also a fine Master's program available to students.
MTSU is a good affordable choice for Tennessee students. Many education, business, and nursing students attend. The aerospace program is also growing. Students who enjoy a small campus and student body should not attend this school.
