| kelerion's Full Review: Samsung VM8000 VM8110XTC PIII 1.1GHz / 20GB / 256M... |
I've had this laptop for over 2 years now and from the very first time I switched it on.. I figured this must be a huge design flaw..
The fan/cooler are on the bottom right of the unit.. as is the air-vent..
This means that if the laptop is on your knee, table, desk etc.. it can't get any air and the laptop gets very hot indeed.. then is switches itself off (safety precaution)
If you are doing anything processor intensive (playing music, accessing the CD, watching DVD's / films etc) this can happen within a couple of minutes of turning the laptop on.
I'm not an engineer but even I can realise this to be a huge oversight in the design.
