4 razes, besides the traditional Human and Orcs, we now have the Night Elfes and the Undead.
The image of the game is just great, the sounds are very good too and the strategy is just a piece of art.
But let`s start by the beginning, the video, the quality of vision, blizzard has really made great improvements on this area, there is a great jump between warcraft II and this third version. The detail of the faces, the grass, the water, the trees, you have no difference between the environment and the characters. In general, strategy games don`t pay much attention to this kind of stuff, but here it really shows a great effort on this matter, specially taking into account that the game contains more less than 50 scenarios and, well, saying that you may found like a 1000 more over the net won`t have imply a risk. Not to talk about the presentation and the interface of the game, who are really excellent.
Other thing who brings reality is the sound, i`m telling you, if you focus, have a good screen and some regular audio, you will feel the blood in your hands!.
Now, let`s talk about the options for novice users, i mean, novice users of Warcraft III, because if you have not played the older versions or at least other strategy games, i`ll come difficult to you to learn how to do it right, not impossible, but i`m warning you, this is one tricky game. But, i was talking about novice users, if you want to get started, and start learning how to play this, i`ll suggest you to go to the "campaigns" part, it has really cool cinematics, some of them look like real people, they are just great, and their sound it`s really something!. Here, in campaigns, you`ll start learning and having fun, and you may pass all the chapters of the campaign before taking yourself into the real game.
The real game is in the custom part, when you pick a raze, and you have to fight with other computers (or, if you may, lan games); here is where the real battle starts!. In most of strategy games the razes are just a distraction, because actually they all do the same things, but with different character. Even in the older versions of this game that was the common currency, but now, if you play with orcs you will probably be using a lot of "fighters", but, if you want to play with humans, go to the magic!!, lol, i don`t wanna make recommendations, because, you`ll learn by your own. Anyway what i mean to say is that strategy is everything in this game, and the beauty of it is that there is not a strategy that beats all the others, not in the reign of chaos!!, here, you will need to learn them all in order to strike your enemy with the correct strategy. And talking about this, the most important item, this makes Warcraft so good and so different from the others, the heroes, this, is an absolutely new concept of seeing the game. Some time ago, the key was just to produce a lot of army, and the one with the larger one, won, but now, we have heroes, heroes that can reach up to the 10th level, and believe me my friend, there is a lot different having a hero in the 1st level and in the 10th, there is even a big step between heroes with no more than 2 levels of difference.
And finally, we have Battle.net, and this is like playing on the Internet.......no!!!, this system is much more than that!!!, in battle.net you create your own profile, and when you win, you, as a registered player, got points to increase your level, you start on level 1, and you may get as far as you can, even to level 100!!!, but don`t get too excited about that, a real battle.net master studies every movement he does, when you enter here, the real war starts, and there is no place to hide!
