They call themselves the defenders of the free world. They claim the Internet should be free, but now it should only be free for 40 hours a month, and then you pay.
NetZero is a great Internet service, if you only use the Internet for a few hours a month. You see, NetZero boasts free Internet connection with e-mail and all that good jazz. The only thing you have to do is download a little add bar that displays while you surf the web. This is a great opportunity, until you go over 40 hours in a month. That is when a little window pops up telling you that to continue, you must pay a small fee of $9.95
WAIT JUST A MINUTE! A fee? For Free Internet? Doesn't that make is not free anymore? How can they claim that the Internet should be free when they limit it to 40 hours a month?
I thought this was a scam and I have discontinued my use of NetZero. I understand that they need to make money too, but this just isn't fair. They need to change their mottos now also.
NetZero in itself is a very reliable Internet service. I never got kicked off-line unless I didn't do anything for about 20 minutes or so. I always connected on the first try. I never got any busy signals, and I got a decent connection.
NetZero is easy to use and can be figured out by almost anyone with a little computer experience. I would recommend it to anyone who uses the Internet less then 40 hours a month.
