Do not waste your money and your times for the Thai's traffic problems! Have you ever been to Bangkok ? I guarantee you we are the most traffic-jammed city in the world. For the 15 minutes on foot distance ....it could be 45 minutes by car and could be an hour or more by bus!! If you want to save your money , pick the bus. It's very very cheap , costs you the most at 18 baht from the uptown to another side of Bangkok. But I recommend you to add the opportunity costs for your wasting times. You could spent 15 minutes to wait for the right bus to come and stuck on the VERY crowded bus for a few hours to get to your destination. In the other hands , you could pick the skytrain or motorbike taxi instead. The rate of the skytrain starts from 10 baht to 40 baht. This way is much more accurate because the train arrives by the time schedule. But still there are not so many train stations - so sometimes, you have to walk quite long to get to them. For the motorbike taxi , it's very very fast yes , but it's quite dangerous , expensive , and make you look like a mess when you get to your destination. They charges from the distance. In the central of the city .you have to pay like 50 baht for only a few kilometers. I will not recommend taxi at all for the normal transportation system in the day times. It's both expensive and very slow. Think. They charges you from both the distance and the time , so every second you are sitting , acting cool on the taxi , they are taking your money. Thailand is SO famous about the traffic so , please don't waste your times and your money with taxi. They are okay only after 10pm. when there are no many cars on the road. I want to add that , please please and please beware of the taxi drivers especially when you are not Thai. They have many many tricks just to take away your money.  |
