Pros: translucent purple casing, green LED to indicate "in use".
Cons: small switches to lock and switch memory banks
The Bottom Line: Worth the money... cheaper then Sony & just as reliable from what I've heard

| arch_8gl's Full Review: Lexar 256MB Memory Stick SELECT (MS256-281) Flash ... |
I needed a MS for my Sony SJ33 (see my review on that item!) so I could store MP3's. This one had the most memory available at the time with 256 & a good reputation for quality products.
I've had no issues thus far with the memory sticks data integrity. Everything I've put on there has worked flawlessly thus far and I've lost zero data.
I like the cool green light that flashes when the card is being accessed. Coupled with the orange light that blinks at a different pace on my PDA, it makes for little party/disco lights ;)
As mentioned by another reviewer, the little switch that you can flip to access the seperate memory banks on the stick, is a bit tough to get at. I use my finger nail, but it's tricky sometimes... definitly not the friendliest design. I'd look for them to make it a bit more user friendly in later revisions.
On the whole though I can't complain about much since the memory limitation on this format was supposed to be 128MB. The fact that they've come out with a way to expand upon that is incredible. I've read that they are coming out with a 512 model (128 x 4) heh, then you'll have 2 dip switches to flip around to access memory :)
There is also an equally small switch that can be used to "lock" the stick and make it so that nothing can be written to the stick. (although it can still be read) This feature is useful to prevent accidental deletions or overwriting a file.
Overall definitely worth the money I paid (70 shipped plus a $15 rebate)
