| phunkmasta's Full Review: Jl Audio 12W0 Car Subwoofer |
I usually run my crossovers for 90 Hz and under on my JL, and wow. I have heard a lot of subs, in a lot of cars, and seen a lot of guys spend a lot of money, on a lot of crap. So my mission is to tell a lot of people about the sub. Let me do this in outline for to keep all of the good stuff straight.
a) It is cheep. Not like "Road Gear" cheep, but affordable, and well worth the money. Even if you overpay for one of these beauties, youre still only out $100, not to shabby.
b) They're tuff. I have had my 12W0 for 5 1/2 years and in 2 different cars, and it is still rocking just as much bass as the day I first put it in that sealed box.
c) It is respectable. I have seen guys cobble together all kinds of weird crap, and dump some serious change on big names. So you have the guys with the want to be systems, and the guys who spent their life savings on the systems. But if you have a JL you won't take any crap from people about have'n junk in the trunk (pun intended) and you still have money in your bank account.
Those are my 3 big reasons for hooking up with a 12W0.
by the by i am running a crunch v-200 amp cut at 90, .5 farrad cap, and an Awia CDC-MP32 head. just so you know where I'm coming from.
