| stenrude's Full Review: Apple Brenthaven Professional Shoulder Case for Ap... |
Brenthaven is a trusted name in computer protection and their latest offering to the market carries with it all the strengths of its predecessors.
First off, the computer is protected from all angles (pressure from the top, bottom, all sides) by a padded computer sleeve which slides into the bag itself. The sleeve has a handle and makes for a nice "grab and carry" computer case. It perfectly fits the 17-in notebook.
The rest of the bag is thoughtfully designed as well. There are plenty of pockets for disks and peripherals as well as dividers for files and pockets for your pda, phone, business cards and pens. There is not enough room in the bag to use it as a overnight or carry-on, but you can certainly keep a spare shirt or something like that in it.
The strap is comfortable and adjustable and the bag itself has a strap across the back to allow you to secure it to the handle of a rolling suitcase.
The material that the bag is made of is super tough. This is my second Brenthaven bag and the first still looks brand new after about 5 years. (The only reason I had to get a new bag was that the dimensions of my new laptop made the old bag obsolete). Inside, the pockets are strong and I have yet to see any signs of wear.
Overall, buying a brenthaven bag is just a smart move. They may not look as fancy as other bags, but they are certainly lighter than the haliburton-z's and way better at protecting your computer than a kenneth cole leather metro bag or something of that nature. Also, a less snazzy bag means that it is less likely to be something that someone wants to steal!
