Pros: Great quality scans, realistic color, good documentation, USB 2.0 connection is fast.
Cons: Could be faster, but the quality makes up for this minor short coming.
The Bottom Line: This is a highly rated scanner, number 1 in PCWorld's test. I purchased this through NewEgg on line, a good experience. Great job on scanning slides.

Ranked number 1 by PCWorld Magazine. My old HP scanner finally gave up the ghost and I will never buy HP products because of HP's poor support policies. Lucky for me because Canon has the best scanner. It set up really easy in Windows XP, fully recognized and the drivers and software provided work great. Good manuals and easy to follow instructions. The best part is the great job it does scanning color photograph slides. This by itself is enough of a reason to buy this scanner. I have a bunch of old slides that will now be put on computer and slide shows. The quality of the scan is beyond belief. The jpeg file from the scan of the slide is better than any digital photo you can get with a high resolution digital camera. Even at 300 dpi, the resolution is great. At 1200 dpi it is like something from the future, but you really don't need to go that high and forget 2400 dpi unless you have lots of memory and a high speed processor, besides it goes beyond the resolution of the slide at that point. Suffice it to say this scanner smokes. Buy it, you will not be sorry.
