No one wants a bad smell in their home, especially me. It is difficult though when you have a cat, a dog, and a litter of kittens to keep my bathroom and bedroom smelling fresh. I have tried nearly everything to try to control the amount of odor that seems to be around with various things like incense, candles that have a scent, litter box deodorizer, air freshener spray and Glade PlugIns. As you can see I am armed with everything I seem to need and it seems I have finally been able to get a hold on things, but do you see how many items it took?

Well last night I went out to Target to buy more products as the others had ran out and I decided to check out another Glade PlugIns Scent. Glade PlugIns is nice enough to have a small circle on each of their boxes of refills so that you can scratch and sniff the scent that is in the box. I decided on Glade Plug Ins Rainshower which also happened to have a Bonus Glade PlugIn Holder inside. The box comes with three air freshener refills at $2.49 per box which I think is a good deal for the amount of effectiveness that the Glade PlugIn has in one room. If you had to buy the Plug In itself with the scents it would be the same price as long as you were shopping at Target which is where I customarily go to get my goodies.

Glade PlugIns In Rainshower Scent, How does it Smell?

The Glade PlugIns Rainshower is now my favorite scent of all. Glade claims that it has “a clean scent that will bring the freshness of a spring morning rain into your home.” (taken from packaging) I would definitely have to agree with that. The Glade PlugIns Rainshower has a very bold clean scent that smells like after the rain in the spring time just like they claim. It has a light hint of perfume to it as well but not the kind that would be offensive. It is rather pleasant I have to admit.

The Choices of the Glade PlugIn Designer Holders

The Glade PlugIns come with a plastic holder that isn’t ugly, but not exactly the most attractive either. I would call it more on the simple side. It has vented airways for the scent to be released and is a plain white with a light design to it. In my bathroom, I have a Glade PlugIn that works as an air freshener, but also has a night light attached to it which I love in the middle of the night. There is also a Glade PlugIn that is “Double Strength” and releases more scent which I haven’t been able to try yet. I have had luck with the other two that the “double strength” hasn’t been needed as of yet.

How to Use the Glade PlugIns

The directions on the packaging are as follows:
1. PEEL OPEN – Slowly remove foil label from the fragrance refill using peel tab. Do Not remove or puncture clear film protecting the fragrance concentrate
2. INSERT REFILL – Hold the fragrance refill so the word GLADE is facing up. Then slide the narrow end of the refill into the holder unit.
3. INSERT HOLDER INTO OUTLET – Insert holder into a 120 volt electrical outlet to gently warm the fragrance concentrate in the refill. Within minutes, the fragrance will begin to freshen your entire room
4. REPLACE REFILL – As the fragrance refill freshend, it begins to dry and crack. When the concentrate is nearly gone it is time to replace the refill.

It is a fairly simple process to put the Glade Refill into the Glade PlugIn Holder. There are pictures for each step however should you become a little lost. I don’t think you will have a problem though with the directions or figuring it out. Like I said, it is simple.

How Effective is the Glade PlugIn?

I found the first Glade PlugIn in Country Garden with my nightlight set a while back. I wasn’t crazy about the scent but I was extremely impressed that it did deodorize and freshen my bathroom and bedroom right up. I would have to say the same about the Glade PlugIn Rainshower Scent. The scent was noticeable about fifteen minutes later from placing it in the two holders I had. My bedroom and bathroom, where the kitty litter is, was immediately different. It smelled clean again to me and I was impressed with Glade once again. The power of the scent is amazing in one room. I would have to say that it is quite remarkable that it works but also keeps on working until it is ready for another refill. I have found in the past using Airwick Oils that the scent is noticeable the first 48 hours but after that the fragrance kind of disappears. It is this very reason why I have stuck with Glade PlugIns instead of going back to the scented oils. Although Glade does make PlugIn Oil Scents as well which I haven’t tried, but I am sure work very well.

Final Thoughts

I have to say that I am quite impressed with the Glade PlugIn itself but also with the scent of Rainshower. I truly think it is their best scent yet from the others that I have tried.
