Decide where you'll be using your CD Player, and what features you'll need once you get there!

I had to LOL when I read this line in your review:
"But, then again, if you have such nice speakers in your car, why don't you have an in-dash CD player, hmmmm?" Too funny, and too true!

Great writing, and great point about the CD-R issue. Sorry you got burned in your choice!

You're right, boomboxes can be considered portable CD players as well. I didn't think about that! What I'm referring to here, though, are the "tiny" CD players-- sometimes known as "discmen." Kind of like cassette walkmen. I doubt boomboxes come with ESP, which is why yours probably skips in the car when you play CDs.

Thanks for reading, and good luck!

for sharing a helpful review. There's a question I must ask though...aren't portable CD players called boom boxes?

I get so confused over this. When I purchased my car brand new in 1989 I had a choice between a theft device or a cassette player. Being the practical lady that I am I chose the theft device.

I just got a boom box CD player running off of batteries. However, it's causing all of my CD's to skip while in the car. Would you know any reason why this would happen?

I am sorry to make this so long but I need to listen to music while driving...my radio just went on the blink.

I guess I am lucky. My car's CD player does play my CD-Rs fine. I didn't know that one could have those problems. By the way, the car has an ESP also, but with S = skid instead of skip, I think.

I learnt something useful from this review - thanks!!!
