| drdoug99's Full Review: Sony 8MB Memory Card PS2 |
Finally, oh finally, I can write a review of this nice little Sony 8MB memory card for the Playstation 2 because I have actually gotten to purchase a Playstation 2 exactly a week ago as I write this. My review for the PS2 is written as well, but this is about the memory card, so here goes.
Size - 8 megabytes, or roughly 8,000 kilobytes, making it plenty big for my current game SSX, and all my old PSX games, about 31 different saves, leaving me with still 7,777KB of space left. Very nice.
Ease of use - Easy. The Browser interface for the PS2 is easy to use, and managing your save games is easy as well. Copying, deleting and sorting through all the different saves is clear and precise, and are organized in nice 3D icons.
Speed - Copying and deleting files takes all of a couple seconds. Saving date from an actual game, for example, my current SSX game, is faster, but not that much faster than current PS1 games, but that will change I'm sure as developers learn more about how do program more effeciently, but as it stands, I am just fine with the speed as is.
Price - I paid $35 bucks, a bit of a increase, but totally worth it, as a memory card is essential for saving your games.
Color - mine was black, I don't know if they have any other colors yet, but I'm sure they will.
