Great quality monitor from the folks at Viewsonic. After comparing a bunch of 17 in LCDs, I went with the VP171b because of its good resolution plus the fast refresh rate of ~15ms (I do like to play some games on occasion). Out of the box, it was impressive- good quality construction, sturdy base, and have the flexibility to view the screen in a vertical orientation. I've connected the LCD to my Radeon 9800 via the DVI output- and I couldn't be happier with the result. My games play quite well and there's no "ghosting" artifact. Using regular applications, the screen brightness makes things pleasing to the eye and the detail is quite sharp- spreadsheets are a joy to see on this one.
