Pros: Great Laptop at a Great Price
Cons: Must get used to keyboard (takes only a week).
The Bottom Line: Get this computer. It is the equivilent of a $2200 Dell and it has a wide screen. One of the best computers I've used!

| kramarica's Full Review: E-Machines 2400+ (m5310) PC Notebook |
When searching for a laptop today, there are a few essentials. A solid hard drive, a CD-RW drive, a DVD player, and at least 256 RAM are necessities today.
This laptop has 512 RAM, a 40 GB hard drive, a 24 by 10 by 24 CD-RW/DVD drive, and a 15.4 inch widescreen XGA display.
These specs would usually cost around 2,000 dollars for most popular laptop brands, but because it uses an AMD processor instead of an Intell, you save money. In fact, what most people don't realize is that in many ways the AMD processor is better for laptops. It uses less battery power and is actually faster where it counts.
With a widescreen it is easy to open web pages and keep a sidebar to the left without reformatting the screen, an the keys on the laptop are much bigger than most I've used before.
I also decided to compare prices with smaller companies that may be cheaper, and even ProStar, known for its low prices, would need two hundred more dollars to build a laptop with most of the features found on this e machines notebook.
My only complaint is that I originally had trouble adjusting to the keyboard, as the delete key is found at the top right of the board and the caps lock is unusually large compared to the A key. I got used to it and began to type flawlessly within a week though.
