I noticed that my ISP is trying to give me a free half a month of Rhapsody, but I wasn't sure about downloading 'their' software in order to use it. However it looks like I have everything to gain and nothing to lose. Thanks so much for this very helpful review!!

Good review but.... (Reply to this comment)

Nice review on the service. This is exactally what I experienced in the Best Buy store. I was very impressed. However, after signing up in the store, and giving both Best Buy and Rhapsody my credit card information, I have been unable to use the service. I keep recieving the error message, "Unable to locate username." This is now four days later and I still cannot log in. I have tried to contact Rhapsody and they are not returning any email I send them. Be very cautious about this service. I have a feeling thier is something causing issues in the communication between the Best Buy store and the Rhapsody service. Perhaps if you do everything online to begin (rather than using the Best Buy CD) you'll be alright. But then, you only get 1 week of free trial and not the two weeks offered by Best Buy.

I was hoping to find a good review here about this service because I didn't really understand everything it offered. You answered all my questions. :) I think I'll try it!

I work at Best Buy, so I know basically everything about Rhapsody, and you explained it very well.
When I first found out we had to sell it, I was sure it would be a flop, but it actually is a pretty good system and you definitely won't get sued for it.
Nice job on explaining it :)

The salespeople at Best Buy hound me about signing up for this everytime I visit the store. I still think that the price per song needs to come down some. At $.79 a song your looking at a cost of $11.85 per 15 track album you burn. This is roughly the same cost as buying one album in the stores even though you provide the cd and you get none of the art work or liner notes.
This seems like a rip-off to me so I'll probably just stick to buying the cd's in the store and downloading some songs on a free service.
Great review though and thanks for explaining this service to me in detail since I have yet to listen to an entire sales pitch at Best Buy.

where you were frantically downloading Evanescence songs from last night?! :) How did it go?
In any case, this information is great to have. I know there's a ton of places out there, and it can be overwhelming to try and pick one. Thanks for doing all the hard work, babe!

So here's an honorary MH, since I can't seem to get mobiprof's solution to work yet...
Great details, easy to understand, and extremely comprehensive - all the hallmarks of a top notch review!

I browsed Press Play. I hope you're going to review that. I'm not all that impressed. I can't find anything I'm looking for.
I'll keep looking though. Nice job on Rhapsody, although I'm not sure it's for me. Glad it's working for you.
