I used travelnow to rent a car on Oahu and was quite satisfied.
I live on the Big Island and was taking a last-minute trip to Oahu. I checked most of the online major car rental sites (I think it was budget, dollar, avis, and hertz that I checked) and I could not find a rate under $35 for the day - these were local rates too.
Extremely frustrated, I went to the travelnow site. I had my reservations about using the site, mostly because I had never used a non-brand site to reserve travel on the Internet before. I had visions of arriving on Oahu and dollar never having heard of me or my reservation, but I was desperate so I searched. I found and rented a car through dollar for $21.00 - at a non-local rate! I found the search to be very easy to use and the rental procedure to be simple and straight-forward.
When I arrived to dollar to pick up my car they had my reservation and there were zero problems. It was as if I had rented the car through the dollar site, but at a $15 savings.
