The reason I purchased the rack system was because I liked the fact that each component was an individual piece, so if something breaks I can take that particular piece in and not the entire system. That is a major convenience.
Sound was another reason I chose my Sony. Take a look at these:
~A/V receiver with Dolby Digital and Dolby Pro Logic decoding
~5-Disc DVD/CD changer for state-of-the-art audio and video
~S-Video and component video output on DVD changer
~Frequency synthesis tuning with 30 AM/FM station presets
~Dual cassette deck with High-speed dubbing and Dolby B NR
~Three independent electronic components
~Audio/Video unified remote control with glow-in-the-dark keys
~36-1/2" Vertical equipment cabinet
One last reason was sound. I love to crank my music up & dance dance dance. So the sound quality was very impressive. Heres what it has:
~Complete five-speaker system: Front, Center and Surround
~3-Way floor-standing front speakers with 12-inch woofers
Now that I have my Sony R-7000 I can enjoy all my music and even my home theater system.
