Pros: novelty, JPG display
Cons: doesn't work with Lexar sticks, audio playback, screens
The Bottom Line: Unless you have spare cash, don't mind not getting top quality, and want to have fun with a neat idea that doesn't quite live up to its billing, don't bother.

I bought two of these units in excitement, planning to give them to my parents so that they could receive pictures of our new baby and view them on their TV screens.
I excitedly opened the Lexar 128MB memory sticks I bought the same day, put some media on them, and inserted them into one of the units. No dice. I tried the same thing with the 8MB memory stick that came with my TRV025 camcorder, and it seemed to work fine. I emailed the company to confirm that their product will not work with Lexar memory sticks, and sure enough, they confirmed that fact to me in their response. Would have been nice to know that beforehand.
The playback of what I got to work was adequate. Sometimes, when I inserted a stick and then powered the unit, I could not get a directory of files. Other times, I would get the directory, but in the process of selecting the appropriate functions to get there, the selection screens would seem to blend with one another - not very professional. It appears that these boxes are a bit sluggish sometimes when it comes to reading the media you insert into them. Also, an MPG I played back did so with audio at a speed faster than that originally recorded - sounded like Mickey Mouse. All pictures (JPGs) I displayed with the unit came out just fine. I do find it annoying that the units, by default, start playing media before you even select anything. I would rather they defaulted to the setup screen.
I bought these units for about $60 each. I am glad I did not pay any more for them. I will probably keep them, simply for the novelty factor, and use them only with Sony media.
