If your from the North and want to try something a little different, head out to one of those Southern restaurants (Sylvia's in downtown Atlanta is a great one)

Are you sure you're in Atlanta? This is the most stereotypical review I've ever read! I don't know where you've been going to eat, but obviously you haven't explored even 3/4 of what is available to you here.

Religion? I was merely trying to make a comparison between the typical foods encountered in the South versus those encountered in the North. I am actually Catholic, not Jewish, and if you walk into any coffee shop in Manhattan you will find an array of bagels (poppy seed, everything bagel, cinnamon raisin, onion etc) whereas in the South one has to look very hard to find even a plain bagel.that was my point to compair the difference in types of food between the South and the North specifically between NY and Atlanta....sorry if it was misleading

But it seems to me your whole point is from the religious difference. Bagel is originally Jewish food, isn't it?

I am not very sure about the population structure, but there are a lot more Jewish population in percentage in NY city.
