| kparsons13's Full Review: Orange Clean Multi-Purpose Floor Cleaner for No-Wa... |
I am always looking for a good floor cleaner. There is nothing like finding something that makes my floors sparkle and shine. I have three linoleum floors in my apartment, two in the bathroom and one in the kitchen. They are a light ivory color with a marble like appearance but unfortunately show everything. So I clean my floors at least three times a week if not more. It drives me crazy to see them dirty, especially in my master bathroom where the kitty litter is.
So when I was perusing the aisles of Bed Bath and Beyond and looking for new cleaners, I came upon Orange Clean for $5.99. I thought it was a little on the expensive side but had read a reviews that had raved about these products, so I thought it was worth the money.
The Packaging
The bottle of Orange Clean Multi Purpose Floor Cleaner is for No Wax Floors. It is clearly stated on the front of the bottle. It comes as 24 fl oz or 710 ml. It is ideal as they say for ceramic, linoleum, tile and other no wax floors. It has a lift up squirt top and push down when not in use.
The Directions
It is as they say an Easy Application. It is a one, two, three step process, sounds and looked simple enough by the images on the back of the bottle. First you squirt the Orange Clean Multi Purpose Floor Cleaner on the floor in the area that you are getting ready to mop. Then you wipe the mop over the area and it leaves the floor sparkling clean. Sounds okay right?
My Thoughts
Well at a waste of $5.99 this stuff stinks. It is even worse than Mop and Glo that I had tried a while back. The same type of system but less sparkle. Orangle Clean Multi Purpose Floor Cleaner not only didn't clean my floors and lift the dirt and grime off of them but it also didn't even smell that great. It is supposed to give out the smell of oranges but this bunch was a orange gone bad with chemicals. I didn't care for it at all.
I tried the mop situation and gave the floor cleaner the benefit of the doubt and then went to work like I normally do. I got down on all fours and started all over again this time using my hand towel to clean and wipe away. Still the same reaction. It was pitiful. I finally got the floor clean with lots of scrubbing and brushing.
When I looked down at the floor it was matte and there was no sparkle at all. I was deeply disappointed that I had forked out $5.99 to get the results that I could have with warm water and soap. That in fact could have worked better.
The Orange Clean Multi-Purpose Floor Cleaner was then brought over to my mother's Mexican Tiled Floors for a second test and it failed again. Nothing worked out for it. There was no shine to the floor, it didn't lift the dust off of the floor either. There were still marks and scuffs left.
So it wasn't just my linoelum. I tried to see if it would sparkle my tile in the shower and it didn't do anything there either. So for the three examples the bottle gave me, it failed in all three.
I am obviously not impressed by the Orange Clean Multi Purpose Floor Cleaner. I would never pay a penny for it. It is useless and worthless. I went back to my floor cleaner that I normally use for $.99 at Target and it worked fine. So until I find something else better, I will stick with that.
Until next time,
