So I was looking for an update to my old HP1215 and the 7550 seemed like the obvious choice. My first set of prints have been on Kodak High Gloss paper and were taken with a Canon Digital Rebel. The color span is incredible, the pictures are every bit as sharp as a photprocessing lab - I love this printer.

The on board LCD is great, it makes set up and selecting images a piece of cake, having the built in card reader to work with is neat as well. The whole printing from the card process is way easier that with the 1215, where you really need to do a proof sheet before you can select what images to print.

Having got spare cartridges when we bought the printer running costs look like they will be on the low side, although anything coming in lower than the local Walmart will be a bonus - plus the quality is way higher.

We intend to use the 7550 as a 'pay to print' printer so it should find itself worked hard and we will report this to you as we go on.

For now though for ease of use, picture quality and price it seems like a bargain - if only it were twice as fast...
