The Bottom Line It doesn't matter because there are better ways to pirate your mp3's!
Napster is as good as dead. Although you can still get on the servers and download, they're down from having millions of songs shared to now only around 200k per server. Now this might still be fine if you listen to Britney "Get freaky with my video shoot extras" Spears, but try finding a 192kbs copy of "I Cum Blood" by Cannibal Corpse - it will not be among those 200k songs.

It really doesn't matter, because there are so many other file sharing services - they can't kill em all, especially those that are based in / extend to other countries. The big one out know is the Gnutella network (there is no Gnutella program to download - you gotta get individual clients) - and there are a whole bunch of these clients. The best out right now is Lime Wire which is amazing because you can connect to as many servers as you want - this means 10's of millions of songs available! (180 terrabytes - you will find Cannibal Corpse in here!). Other good file sharing programs are: Bear Share, IMESH, File Navigator. If you still must depend on Napster for your piracy needs, get Napigator so you can change Napster servers - and find the song you need.

Lets see, 10-12 gigs of MP3's - 45 albums! Hehe, at a wonderfully expensive (damn record labels screwing artists and fans - everyone screw em back) $17 per CD -- $765. That pays for a CD burner and internet access!
But if you really like a group, go buy their CDs, especially buy Metallica's so Lars will stop whining and the new CD will actually be good.
