This "heater" does not actually generate any heat. More details are below but I should warn any purchasers that this product is a complete waste of money.
MY EXPERIENCE
Still reading? Okay here is the scoop. I opened the package and turned on the heater. There are three settings. The first one is a fan with no heat. That setting works fine. The second setting is supposed to throw off some heat. However, there was no difference from the first setting. The third setting is supposed to be even hotter. After switching to this highest setting, there was still no heat. It seems the heater never gets out of fan mode. I have tried the heater in various rooms, for various lengths of time and in different electric outlets and it still doesn't do any more than blow air.
WHAT YOU GET
A black space heater about 8 inches high and 5 inches deep. There is one control knob. There is another teeny plastic strip that purports to be a thermometer but doesn't actually function as one.
WHAT THE PACKAGE PROMISES
Automatic temperature control: I see no evidence of this feature on the product. There are three settings: fan, little heat and big heat. There is no way to set this heater to a desired temperature setting.
Freeze-Guard Setting: This is where things get strange. The directions indicate that if you want the freeze-guard option, you turn the dial to a picture of a snowflake. There is a picture of a snowflake on the top of the heater. However, there is no way to point the knob toward the snowflake. In fact, the knob is no where near the snowflake. I assume this means you can't activate the freeze-guard setting.
Hi-tech Design: Design means nothing if it doesn't work.
Removable dust filter: There is a cheapy filter that can be removed but not replaced. The holes in the filter are rather large so it isn't going to capture anything much smaller than a cheerio. The directions say that the filter should be cleaned with a brush. I suppose you could also try to vacuum accumulated dust embedded in the filter.
PTC thermostat overheat shut off: According to the directions, if the heater overheats, it shuts off automatically. Of course, I don't have to worry about that because my heater doesn't get close to lukewarm.
Finger-proof grill: This means your kids can't poke their fingers through the grill. The directions say the entire unit gets hot when the heat is on and imply that you could be burned just by touching it when it is on the hottest setting. I can't verify this because my heater doesn't get hot. I suppose then the finger-proof grill only provides a safety-measure when the heater is in fan mode.
Limited 2 year warranty: There is nothing even close to a 2 year warranty according to the directions included inside the packaging. The instructions indicate that if the heater fails in the first 90 days, the company will repair it for free. After 90 days, if a component fails because of a manufacturing defect, the company will replace the component for up to one year. If the heating element fails, the company will replace it for 2 years. However, the consumer must pay for the shipping to the company. Additionally, the company reserves the right to charge the consumer for installation labor. That 2 year warranty sure is limited.
Wide base for added stability: Look at the picture. The base is actually narrower than the main part of the unit.
Quiet spot heating: The heater is louder than other fans and heaters that I have owned.
