Pros: Adds more USB ports, easy to install
Cons: Did not run from computer power supply like it's supposed to.
The Bottom Line: Definitely get it if you need extra USB 2.0 ports. Since it also supports USB 1.1 and does not cause performance lags in the devices, how can anyone go wrong?

I have an older computer that only had two USB 2.0 ports and I quickly ran out of ports for all my peripherals.
The package came with the USB hub, the wire to connect the hub to the computer, a power plug and a manual. According to the manual, it is compatible with Windows 98SE, Me, 2000 and XP.
Price: $39.99
PROS
Adds an additional four ports to the computer, creating five usable ports; remember, I started with two and you have to use one of the computer's USB 2.0 port to plug into the hub.
It's easy to install: just plug it into the computer USB 2.0 port. The manual is also pretty straight forward, telling you how to install it and explains what the lights mean, etc.
Theoretically, the hub should operate without plugging into an outlet because it runs on your computer's power supply.
You can add additional USB hubs to it, so long as you plug the additional hub into an outlet.
You can plug USB 1.1 devices into the hub.
You can put the hub somewhere that's easier to get to than the back of the computer.
It allows me to plug or unplug my peripherals without having to restart the computer for it to recognize a new hardware/device. Very convenient if you have a printer and need to print from an un-networked laptop.
There is no difference in performance from the devices I plug into the hub: they act as if it were plugged into the computer itself.
CONS
It was supposed to work on my computer's power supply, but I had to plug it into the outlet to make it work.
CONCLUSION
Very nifty device and a lifesaver regarding the printer (when I needed to print something in a pinch). For $39.99, you can't go wrong.
