| pactogie's Full Review: Canon I-960 Photo Printer Ink-jet Printer |
My experience in using the Canon I960 has been totally wonderful. I made the purchase from Dell because they are trust worthy, they have it in stock and nobody else has it $199.00 less 10% discount, free shipping, and for shipping to New York, you are responsible for paying for your own sales tax. You can't beat this price in October except may be Best Buy who gives you a $30 gift card. The I960 has way surpassed my expectations in a photo printer in this price range. I bought this printer primarily for photo printing,--4" x 6" prints mainly. I currently own an HP and an Epson printer. Through great printers, I go broke with the HP ink cartridges and I get a headache from the Epson's noise. Since I have a Canon Powershot G3 digital camera, I decided to look at the Canon photo printers so that I can utilize the direct print feature if I choose to do so.
The setup was quick. The instructions were simple and concise. The print head alignment was simple. I found myself printing 4"x6" prints direct from the camera or through the PC in no time. The quality of the photo prints on the Canon photo paper pro was phenomenal. I tried using cheaper photo paper [Staples 2 x 50 sheet packs for $10.00] without any high expectations, the prints are just as good except it's less glossy and that the paper feel is not as professional as the Canon photo paper pro. But for general usage such as making extra prints to share with your family and friends, it's more than adequate. I have made over 60 prints since I bought this printer, the ink usage barely moved. I don't know about other digital cameras, but, when use in conjunction with the Canon G3, the Canon I960 produces prints with color so vivid, brilliant and sharp, it simply knocks your socks off in blazing speed. The end product is totally gratifying. The prints are better than prints I get from my 35mm camera developed through the photo labs. I don't think I'll be using my Nikon N80 or going through the photo lab anytime soon. With the holidays coming soon, I'm looking forward to generating lots and lots of photos for my family and friends.
I expected to spend about $300 for a printer of this caliber. I only spent $179.10 delivered to my door. With the money I saved, I can buy plenty of photo papers and ink cartridges to print more photos. Canon made it possible for me to save money, make great pictures wow my family and friends and have lots of fun while doing this.
The Canon I960 photo printer is well worth it.
