It was the Gwenyth Horror all over again.... (Reply to this comment)

...just minus the pink dress!
First the Ranting:
I don't dislike Julia Roberts, but I don't think that she is a particularly "great" actress. What the hell was going on with her hair, though? Looked like someone had strapped Fatso the Fat A*rsed Wombat to her head.
Meg Ryan - Agreed, can't stand her - I actually avoid any movie with her in it these days. She bores me to tears. Gwyneth Paltrow, urrrrrrgh. Couldn't act her way out of a sack. Did you know she came 4th of a list of women that men least want to see naked? With good reason!
Gladiator was not good enough for best film. I actually enjoyed it a lot, but it was no Braveheart.
It was a bit of a blah year for Oscars. They were good films but not for the Gold.
Raves
Loved Crouching Tiger! I was very happy to see it get so many awards. Its a lovely piece of cinema with extraordinary landscapes and characters. Touching performances.
Other
Russell Crowe was surly because he doesn't like the fakery of a lot of the people in Hollywood. Doesn't play the Hollywood games, doesn't want anything to do with them. That's why he didn't go to the A-list parties - he went to a hotel room and celebrated with his family instead.
Cheers!

I just don't get it - period. I think she's made some kind of deal with the devil.
Laura Linney was the obvious best actress.

but seen the t.v. news. Saw Julia's acceptance speech and agree it was thoroughly embarrasing. Good write up. Ann

I'm a big pathetic sucker for the Oscars, too. Don't know why. I also read Ted Casablanca religiously. Can't help it.
Thanks!
